Abstract

Objective To understand the degree, incidence and outcome of multiple organ damage after neonatal severe asphyxia, and to explore the influencing factors and grading of neonatal multiple organ damage. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 112 neonates with severe asphyxia .The organs studied were designated as brain, heart, kidney, lung, liver, gastrointestinal tract, metabolism, and blood, and the degree of damage to each organ was divided into mild, moderate, and severe. Results: Among the 112 cases, 6 died and 2 died. After giving up and not investigating, among the remaining 104 cases, 53 cases (51%) developed MODS. The duration of asphyxia and the incidence of MODS are affected by the degree of asphyxia; the degree of asphyxia and the incidence of MODS are also affected by the duration of asphyxia. Conclusion The degree, duration, neurological symptoms, etc. of asphyxia can be used as early warning indicators for the incidence of MODS.
