Establishment of prevention and treatment plan for nutritional anemia in rural children

Abstract

 In order to fulfill the requirements of a large scale prophylaxis and treatment protcol to be economical, practical, feasible and with good result, through the study of the comparison of the intervenient results of different intervenient groups, comparison of the cost and effectiveness and the analysis of compliance of taking medicine and effectiveness, we suggest to adopt the following simultaneously:①health education -rational feeding;②medicinal prophylaxis for high risk children;③medicinal treatment for moderate and severe anemic patients. Intervention is to be taken in the slack season, twice a year, each for 3 months. Monitoring is to be taken once a year. Decrease in kinds of drugs as far as possible, decrease the dosage of iron in order to lessen side reaction and choose the best form of iron are also important.
