Abstract

This paper reports a clinical analysis of 164 cases critically ill neonates transferred from local hospitals to the NICU of our hospital during the period from July to Dec, 1995. Signs and chance of neonatal transport and patients' management when transporting were discussed. We think that We should do during transportation of newborn infants as following ①keeping airway fluent; ②preventing heat loss; ③oxygena-tion;④ establishing intravenous passage ; ⑤laying nasal stomach tube ; ⑥monitoring vital signs; ⑦Emergency managements and so on. Practice indicates that neonatal transport plays a signifcant role in rescue of critically ill newborn infants.
