Children at age 0-4 years Death

Abstract

Compiled the death statistics of children aged 0 to 4 years old in some areas of 13 provinces in China. The results show that the mortality rate of children aged 0 to 4 years old ranges from 31.64‰ to 44.79‰, of which infant deaths, especially neonatal deaths, account for the main part. Asphyxia, premature birth, low birth weight, and pneumonia are the main causes of death in the neonatal period. Pneumonia is one of the main causes of death in infancy, and accidental death is an important factor threatening the lives of children aged 1 to 4 years old. It is suggested that strengthening perinatal health care, preventing and reducing accidental deaths, and controlling the occurrence of infections and communicable diseases are the keys to reducing the mortality of children aged 0 to 4 years old.
