Abstract

The intelligence quotient (IQ) of 117 children aged 4 to 9 years old who had severe intrapartum asphyxia during neonatal period was measured using the Chinese Binet method. The results were not significantly different from the normal control group, P>0.05. The reason why the rate of intellectual disability in this group of children has been significantly reduced is that, in addition to establishing spontaneous breathing for ≤20 minutes, the main reason is to pay attention to early treatment within 72 hours after resuscitation.
